Vets Rock returns to Mohegan Sun

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Career fairs, workshops, The Wall That Heals, a charity concert and so much more – the possibilities are endless at the second annual Vets Rock at Mohegan Sun this Veterans Day. Hosted by Til Duty is Done and Mohegan Sun, the day will feature special services and activities for veterans and their families.

Vets Rock Concert
Mohegan Sun Arena presents a very special Vets Rock Benefit Concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. on 11 November. The concert, emceed by Tony Orlando, will feature performances by 2015 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Dropkick Murphys, Godsmack, emcee Tony Orlando and Madison Rising with appearances by the NYFD Emerald Society and Tat Holler. In addition, there will be a special presentation to honor Joan Jett with the Yellow Ribbon of Freedom award during the show. Tickets are $30.00 and go on sale Friday, 16 September through Ticketmaster. Ticketmaster customers may log on to or call Ticketmaster's national toll free Charge By Phone number 1.800.745.3000. Complimentary tickets will be given to the first 250 Veterans who register for the day's events at the Vets Rock website.

Wounded Veterans VIP Experience
Mohegan Sun and Till Duty Is Done are extremely proud to announce an exclusive partnership with American Airlines to give a very special group of wounded Veterans a once in a lifetime experience. American Airlines will be chartering a commercial jet to fly 24 veterans and their families from Wounded Warrior Transition Units around the country to Connecticut for an unforgettable "High Roller" experience during Vets Rock. The veterans will arrive in Connecticut on Wednesday, 9 November and will be put up in Mohegan Sun's hotel for three nights with VIP privileges and services their entire stay.

The Wall That Heals
From 10 November through 13 November, The Wall That Heals will be set up and on display for visitors in the outdoor Winter Parking lot at Mohegan Sun. A mobile replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, The Wall That Heals bears the names of the more than 58,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam and honors the millions of Americans who served during the Vietnam War. The half-scale replica of the The Wall and a mobile Education Center spread The Wall's healing legacy to hundreds of thousands across the country.

Career Fair & Workshops
Vets Rock is also taking over Mohegan Sun's Convention Center. All convention rooms and the full 38,000 square-foot Uncas Ballroom will be converted into a conference space featuring a career fair, resume assistance, professional suit fittings and more.

Half of the Convention Center will host the Hiring Our Heroes Workshop with interview prep and resume assistance. Guests will also have the opportunity to be fitted for a professional suit by Save-A-Suit. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., veterans are invited to take part in the career fair featuring at least 100 employers from throughout the state. The career fair will take place in the other half of the Convention Center. A family area will be available where veterans can bring their children while they explore the services available.
