Vernon Downs investors want shares

NEW YORK -- As reported by the Syracuse Post-Standard: "Former investors in Vernon Downs are getting impatient with delays in receiving their shares of the company that now runs the track.

"The agreement that brought the track out of bankruptcy in early 2006 contained a provision that 10 percent of a subsidiary company would be allocated to former Vernon Downs stockholders. That hasn't happened yet, despite a new order by a federal judge in September.

"...The process began last year, when would-be investors filled out forms asking for their share of the new company. About 100 investors said they wanted to continue their investment in the track.

"Vernon Downs was run by Mid-State Ra Entertainment, which runs Vernon Downs and Tioga Downs near Binghamton..."
