VendingData Responds to Shuffler Master Suit

6 October 2004

LAS VEGAS – (PRESS RELEASE) -- VendingData(TM) Corporation (Amex: VNX), a manufacturer and distributor of products and services for the gaming industry designed to increase security, productivity and profitability of casino operations, acknowledges today's press release issued by Shuffle Master, Inc. regarding its filing of a patent infringement action against VendingData(TM) Corporation's PokerOne(TM) shuffling product. According to the Shuffle Master, Inc. press release dated October 5, 2004, the patent infringement suit alleges that the use, importation and offering for sale of the PokerOne(TM) shuffler infringed Shuffle Master's U.S. Patent Number 6,655,684.

Steven J. Blad, VendingData's(TM) CEO, commented, "We value our intellectual property assets. On March 14, 2004, the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued VendingData(TM) Corporation patent number 490,481 for our PokerOne(TM) shuffler. We are offering the PokerOne(TM) for sale in the United States, which is consistent with the patent issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. This new lawsuit is yet another chapter in Shuffler Master's litigation process which has been occurring for more than two years. Currently, in our other pending lawsuit with Shuffle Master, Inc., we have a motion for summary judgment on file, with the U.S. District Court, District of Nevada, which is intended to invalidate two of Shuffler Master other patents."
