Vegas sportsbooks rev up for NASCAR22 February 2008NEVADA -- As reported by the California Press-Enterprise: "Nevada sports books are probably happy to have a "slow period" after a dismal Super Bowl loss and the start of March Madness, the annual college basketball playoffs. "Of course, there are always events to bet on - the regular NBA and NHL games, the regular season college basketball games, and the ponies. Then there is NASCAR, especially the season opener -- The Daytona 500 on Feb. 17. "...The Las Vegas Hilton has proclaimed itself race central and is hosting race viewing in the Hilton Theater for the Las Vegas UAW Dodge 400. The doors open at 1 p.m. with race activities beginning at 1:30 p.m. "...PT Taverns is sponsoring a drawing for 10 race weekend ticket sets. A special prize of the race weekend is hanging out with Kurt Bush and the Miller Lite team. PT Taverns have 37 outlets in the Las Vegas area and will be showing every NASCAR race this season. "...The Fiesta Rancho and Fiesta Henderson casinos are sponsoring a NASCAR Last Man Standing contest..." |
