US Marshal Joins Station Casino Security7 May 2002LAS VEGAS – As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal: “Jose Troncoso has decided to leave his post as the U.S. marshal of Nevada to become vice president of corporate security for Station Casinos. ”…`Being in the public sector for 28 years, it's time for me to try my knowledge and experience and skills and help the private sector,’ Troncoso said Monday. ”President Bush recently nominated Troncoso, Nevada's first Hispanic marshal, to continue in the position he has held since November 1997. ”Troncoso was awaiting Senate confirmation when he accepted the offer from Station Casinos last week. He said he feared that the opportunity would not come up again if he turned it down now. "…`In light of September 11, we felt that we needed to establish a point person in the company for all security matters,’ [Steve Cavallaro, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Station Casinos] said. ”…Before becoming U.S. marshal for Nevada, Troncoso spent 23 years with the North Las Vegas Police Department…” |
