US Gaming Giant Harrah's Joins Singapore Casino Race23 February 2005SINGAPORE -- As reported by the Business Times: "US gaming giant Harrah's on Wednesday became the latest international gaming firm to enter the race to build Singapore's first casino. "Harrah's Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Harrah's Operating Company, said it had teamed up with Singapore's Keppel Land Investment to bid for the proposed project. "The companies said in a statement they would submit their concept to the Government, which has imposed a Feb 28 deadline for the submission of proposals, without giving details of their plans. "...The Harrah's-Keppel alliance would join Australia's Tabcorp and at least four other firms, including Las Vegas heavyweights Wynn Resorts and MGM-Mirage, in the competition..." |
