Updated event schedule at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa

(PRESS RELEASE) -- South Point Hotel Casino and Spa has updated its events schedule.

2018 Open Wrestling Championships – Wednesday, 25 April – Saturday, 28 April
The South Point Arena welcomes the return of the 2018 Open Wresting Championships from Wednesday, 25 April through Saturday, 28 April. Wrestling fans will see various types of wrestling matches as thousands of wrestlers of all ages, levels and styles travel to Las Vegas to compete for championship titles. Tickets for the 2018 Open Wrestling Championships are on sale now starting at $25.

2018 Silver State RC Race presented by “The Dirt” – Thursday, 3 May – Sunday, 6 May
The South Point Arena welcomes Silver State RC dirt, presented by The Dirt, for its first enclosed indoor dirt race Thursday, 3 May through Sunday, 6 May. Throughout this competition, RC racing enthusiasts will have the opportunity to watch Pro Class, A-Mains and intermediate level Nitro Buggy, Electric Buggy, Nitro Truck and other types of RC racers compete for coveted awards presented on Sunday, May 6. Additionally, RC racing classes will be offered throughout the event. More information about classes can be found here. The Silver State 2018 RC Race is free and open to the public.

West Coast Regional Finals Rodeo & Western Gift Expo – Friday, 4 May and Saturday, 5 May
The West Coast Regional Finals Rodeo returns to take over the South Point Arena Friday, 4 May and Saturday, 5 May. Rodeo fans have the chance to watch the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Rebel Rodeo Team as they compete against rival colleges and universities to advance to the College National Finals Rodeo. Students will compete in nine different events, including bull riding, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and more. Guests can also browse a large selection of Western themed products at the Western Gift Show on the arena concourse. Tickets for the West Coast Regional Finals Rodeo and Western Gift Expo are available here for $10 and applicable for both days of the event.

The US Finals Cheer and Dance – Varsity Spirit – Saturday, 12 May and Sunday, 13 May
South Point Arena welcomes The US Finals Varsity Spirit Cheer and Dance competition Saturday, 12 May and Sunday, 13 May. This exciting two-day event features all-star cheer, school, recreational, and dance team divisions competing for the chance to take home the gold medals. This year will be the first year that only those who have placed in the top three for events will be welcomed to the competition, to make for a high stakes dash to find the best cheer and dance competitors and teams from across the nation. Tickets are available here starting at $20.

Wild Card Reining Challenge and Western Gift Show – Saturday, 19 May - Saturday, 26 May
The Wild Card Reining Challenge returns to the South Point Arena for eight days of equestrian reining action Saturday, 19 May through Saturday, 26 May. Spectators will witness the best reining competitors in the nation battle it out in Four-Year-Old Futurity, Four and Five-Year-Old ARBC Pre-Futurity, Arabian and Half Arabian Ancillary divisions, World Para Reining divisions and the NRHA Ancillary divisions and affiliate qualifier events. This event is free and open to the public.

National Barrel Horse Association Professional's Choice Super Show & Western Gift Show – Thursday, 31 May - Sunday, 3 June
The National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA) takes over the South Point Arena with the NBHA Professional's Choice Super Show Thursday, 31 May through Sunday, 3 June. Barrel racing fans have the chance to witness exhibitions and high-speed races in youth and senior divisions. Guests can also head to the arena concourse for a gift show. This event is free and open to the public.

Mecum Motorcycle Auction – Friday, 1 June and Saturday, 2 June
The South Point Exhibit Hall transforms into a motor paradise with the Mecum Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction Friday, 1 June and Saturday, 2 June. Motorcycle enthusiasts have the opportunity to bid on and view hundreds of antique, vintage and collectible bikes to be auctioned off during exciting bidding wars right before their eyes. Bidder registration is available beginning at $100 here. Tickets for this event will go on sale soon with a limited amount of tickets available at the door.

Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association Core Balance Derby & Classic Challenge Cutting & Western Gift Expo – Friday, 8 June – Sunday, 17 June
The Pacific Coast Cutting Horse Association (PCCHA) “Core Balance” Derby & Classic Challenge returns to South Point Arena Friday, 8 June through Sunday, 17 June. Cutting horse enthusiasts have the chance to witness one of the world’s fastest growing equine sporting events that showcases the strength, elegance and athleticism of these horses all in one sport. The Derby & Classic Challenge concludes with a Mercuria finals competition, which will determine the riders that go home with the champion title. In addition, guests can explore a large selection of Western-themed goods, located in the area concourse. The event is free and open to the public.

Gold Rush Peruvian Classic Horse Show – Friday, 22 June – Sunday, 24 June
The Gold Rush Peruvian Classic Horse Show returns to the South Point Arena Friday, 22 June through Sunday, 24 June. The event combines the Regional Championship Show with the Rio Grande Peruvian Horse Club and the Southern California Peruvian Paso Club. Fans will witness two individual championships in one weekend as each club is awarded prizes for Gold Rush Classic Versatility Horse, Gold Rush Classic High Point Breeder and Gold Rush Classic High Point Exhibitor. This event is free and open to the public.

PCQHA Celebration Circuit Quarter Horse Show and Western Gift Show – Thursday, 28 June – Tuesday, 3 July
Equestrian lovers will be treated to five days of exciting Quarter Horse show circuits competitions coming to the South Point Arena Thursday, 28 June through Tuesday, 3 July. The Celebration Circuit Quarter Horse Show will feature the AQHA division of Western, English and cattle classes with riders of all skill levels. Located in the arena concourse, a Western Gift Show will have a variety of Western-themed favorites to purchase as well. This is event is free and open to the public.

Celebration Circuit Quarter Horse Show featuring The EMO Western States Championship and Western Gift Show – Wednesday, 4 July – Sunday, 8 July
Fans of equestrian sports will indulge in exciting quarter horse show circuits competitions returning to the South Point Arena Wednesday, 4 July through Sunday, 8 July. The Celebration Circuit Quarter Horse Show will feature the AQHA division of Western, English and cattle classes with riders of all skill levels. Horse enthusiasts can also take in the EMO Western States Championship beginning on Thursday, 28 June, that will feature the best riders and horses from open amateur, amateur select and youth classes who qualified for the competition earlier this year, class schedule can be viewed here. Guests will also have the opportunity to explore a large selection of Western-themed goods, located in the area concourse. The event is free and open to the public.

USA BMX 2018 Las Vegas Nationals – Friday, 13 July – Sunday, 15 July
The South Point Arena welcomes the return of the fast paced, high-flying USA BMX 2018 Las Vegas Nationals Friday, 13 July through Sunday, 15 July. Racing fans will take in the top amateur BMX competitors in the United States as they fly around the sharp turns of the dirt race track, take on big jumps and pedal as fast as they can to win the champion title. This event is free and open to the public.

Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association "Western US Championship" and Western Gift Show – Wednesday, 25 July – Saturday, 28 July
The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) Western U.S. Championship takes over the South Point Arena once again from Wednesday, 25 July through Sunday, 28 July. Equestrian sport fans will witness mounted riders compete in five timed rounds firing off two .45 caliber single-action revolvers, each with five rounds of blank ammunition. Riders of all different skill levels will compete for first place, with results based on the fastest time and shot accuracy. Located in the arena concourse, a Western Gift Show will have all Western-themed goods available to purchase as well. This event is free and open to the public.
