Union vote sought for Soaring Eagle Casino11 October 2007MICHIGAN -- As reported by the Morning Sun: "The Teamsters union has asked the National Labor Relations Board to conduct a union election at the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort. "Local 486, which has been attempting to organize the workers at mid-Michigan's largest employer, announced Wednesday it has filed a formal request with the government agency to conduct the representation election. "...The Teamsters have been attempting to organize the casino and hotel workers for months. "The Tribe has had no comment on the organizing drive. It is expected to take the position that the NLRB has no jurisdiction in Indian Country..." |
