Union Plans to Organize Caesars' Mississippi Properties

GULFPORT, Mississippi – As reported by the Biloxi Sun Herald: "UNITE HERE, a union representing casino workers, is moving forward with plans to organize hotel and food/beverage employees at Caesars Entertainment properties in Mississippi, including the Grand Casinos.

"Friday and Saturday, employees who have signed union cards will be electing representatives to a negotiating committee. Ballots will be counted Sunday, and the organizing committee will have its next meeting on April 14. But union representatives are having little to say about the effort.

"…Caesars Entertainment has stated it will not oppose the unionization of its engineering positions, hotel workers and food and beverage staff…"
