Union ads support Massachusetts casino plan25 September 2007BOSTON, Massachusets -- As reported by the South of Boston Enterprise: "A national union representing hotel and casino workers is joining the push for Massachusetts casinos with a radio ad campaign, becoming the first group to take to the airwaves on behalf of Gov. Deval Patrick's casino plan. "UNITE HERE is spending an undisclosed amount on a two-week radio buy endorsing Patrick's plan to locate three Las Vegas-style destination resorts in Massachusetts, praising the economic boost as a way to keep the state affordable. "...The Patrick administration estimates three casinos will create 20,000 permanent jobs and tens of thousands of construction jobs. "The ad also says casinos will generate money to upgrade roads and pay for property tax relief..." |
