UltimateBet signs 'Hollywood' Dave Stann

MIAMI, Florida -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- UltimateBet's Star Players team just got dealt a massive dose of additional star power. The online poker site today announced that they have secured blackjack sensation and recognized TV personality 'Hollywood' Dave Stann for their Star Players Team.

Stann graduated from Kent State University with an Honors BFA Theater degree and spent years on the stage before moving to Los Angeles in 2001 to pursue a career in film and television. To pay bills between gigs, Stann applied his superior intelligence--he's been a member of MENSA since he was a teenager--and learned how to count cards to beat the house at the blackjack tables in Vegas. As part of an elite team of international card counters, he quickly made a name for himself and soon began to clean up on the high-stakes tournament blackjack circuit as well.

In 2006, Stann dedicated 6 months of his life to mastering the art of poker by trading blackjack and poker lessons with Annie Duke, the #1 female poker player and UltimateBet's Cardroom Consultant.

His dedication paid off. In 2007, 'Hollywood Dave' Stann was recognized by a major online poker strategy site as a Top Ten player in the under $1k buy-in category. That year, Stann went on to win nearly $250,000 playing in poker tournaments. So far in 2008, Stann has cashed at the World Series of Poker, finished strong in a Caesars Palace circuit event, and claimed back-to-back third place finishes at the Bicycle Casino.

True to his name, 'Hollywood' Dave Stann has appeared on more than 70 episodes of gambling television. Most recently, he took over hosting duties for season two of Best Damn Poker Show, UltimateBet's poker reality series that airs on national television.
