UK Track's New Boss Aims for Improved Results

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the UK Evening Times: "Park's new Chief Executive is heading off the beaten track to deliver results on it.

"Alastair Warwick is planning to shake up the way the Lanarkshire racecourse does its business. In the space of a year, he hopes to increase attendances by 27% and help transform the image of the sport.

"By Alastair's own admission, it isn't going to be easy but Hamilton Park is used to overcoming hurdles.

"At the end of last year, its popular Fair Friday meeting was in trouble. The Levy Board - the wing of the Betting Industry responsible for the prize pot for races across the UK - refused to fund races in the 2005 Fair Friday event.

"…And last year's gate receipts total of £60,000 was the biggest in the course's history.

"To improve on this, more than £2.5million has been invested in course facilities.

"…Alastair also intends to introduce music concerts at meetings and make more of the grandstand restaurant…"
