UK: GamCare president dies

LONDON, England -- Lord McIntosh, the president of GamCare, has died from cancer age 77, The Racing Post reported.

McIntosh was behind the new Gambling Act of 2005, the report said.

McIntosh was appointed minister responsible for gambling in 2003 by former prime minister Tony Blair according to the Racing Post.

In politics since 1963, McIntosh still held positions in the Gambling Commission and GamCare until his death, The Racing Post said.
