UK: Gambler fights for his alien bet

6 August 2010

LEEDS, England -- An upset British gambler has complained to the Minister of Sport after Ladbrokes refused to pay out on an alien bet, BBC News reported.

The man, who bet $25 on aliens being found by the end of the 20th century, said he'd read 19 books on an incident where an alien spaceship crashed in New Mexico, the report explained.

Ladbrokes cite the United Nations as the deciding force on whether aliens have visited and say they will not pay out the bet, BBC News said.

The Minister of Sport passed the gambler's complaint to the MOD (Ministry of Defence) who supported Ladbrokes position that evidence of aliens had not yet been found.
