UK Casino Gambles on 24 Hour Drinking Pass

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by the icWales: "A city centre casino is the first drinking spot in Cardiff to apply to serve alcohol round-the-clock.

"Les Croupiers in St Mary Street wants to allow members and their guests to buy booze 24 hours a day under new licensing laws.

"The Licensing Act 2003 shake-up means owners of premises which serve alcohol can ask for extensions to their existing opening hours.

"At the moment, Les Croupiers can open its bars from 10am until 2am the following day Monday to Saturday thanks to a special hours certificate attached to its licence.

"Now it wants to extend that to 24 hours, although the casino's owners point out in their application – which has yet to be decided – that entry would be restricted to members and signed-in guests…"
