UK Bingo Operator Offers Help

UNITED KINGDOM – As reported by Ananova: "A bingo operator has become the first in the UK to employ staff to offer advice to gambling addicts.

"The code of conduct, developed by Carlton Clubs, has now been recognised by national gambling help charity GamCare, which said it wanted to see the policy implemented at all bingo halls.

"The code involves staff from Carlton, the UK's largest independent bingo operator, being trained to inform customers with gambling problems where and how to seek help.

"…The charity has taken the view that while the responsibility for an individual's gambling is their own, staff can have an important role in advising where support and help is available…"
