Two Lotto South Winning Tickets Sold in Virginia

14 February 2005

RICHMOND, Virginia – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Two tickets matched all six numbers to win the jackpot in Saturday's Lotto South drawing. Both of those tickets were purchased in Virginia! They will split the estimated $21 million jackpot. One of the jackpot-winning tickets was sold in the Town of Scottsville in Albemarle County. The other jackpot winner is a Virginia Lottery Season Ticket.

Lotto South is played in Virginia, Georgia and Kentucky, with drawings at 11:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Its record-high jackpot was $26 million. Saturday's jackpot tied for the third largest ever. All Virginia Lottery profits, including those from Lotto South and Mega Millions tickets sold in Virginia, go to K-12 public school education in the Commonwealth. In fiscal year 2004, the Lottery raised more than $408 million for Virginia's public school.
