Two Injured Tropicana Workers Sue10 December 2003ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "Two construction workers injured in the Tropicana garage collapse plan to sue the city, county and state in separate actions, one claiming officials failed to properly inspect the casino site, the other charging they ignored dangerous on-site conditions. "Four workers died and nearly two dozen more were injured when five floors of the 12-story parking garage collapsed Oct. 30, sending hundreds inside running for their lives. "…One new tort-claim notice says construction worker Oscar Deramus, of Falcon Drive in Absecon, suffered back, neck, shoulder and knee injuries, and will seek damages from Atlantic City, Atlantic County and the state. "…Another new claim says construction worker Leslie Down, 42, of Karen Avenue in Franklinville, suffered severe injuries, including psychological trauma and shoulder injuries that required arthroscopic surgery…" |
