Trump wants documents released

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "Hoping to quell suspicions of excessive secrecy and backroom dealmaking, Trump Entertainment Resorts Inc. wants the city to release key documents related to a $34 million property tax settlement for Donald Trump's three casinos.

"Mark Juliano, chief executive officer of Trump Entertainment, wrote to Mayor Scott Evans urging him to quickly turn over all of the documents sought by The Press of Atlantic City in a lawsuit.

"'Importantly, this disclosure will do a great deal to restore the public confidence in government that has been needlessly undermined in recent weeks,' Juliano concluded in a one-page letter to Evans on Friday.

"...Responding to the letter, Evans reiterated his support for making the documents public. Evans, who took office after the tax settlement was approved by City Council on Nov. 1, said efforts to compile the documents have been complicated by the sheer volume of material and the fact that different attorneys are involved..."
