Trump to Pay $20.7 Million in Indiana Settlement

INDIANA -- Donald Trump's hotel and casino business, which filed for bankruptcy protection in November, agreed to pay $20.7 million to Indiana, settling obligations from a dispute over the way gaming companies computed payments.

Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts Inc., which owns a riverboat casino and hotel in Gary, Ind., will pay $500,000 within five days, the company said today in a filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Indiana gaming companies received assessments after the state contested the way they were computing adjusted gross income, Trump Hotels said in an October filing. Trump said it will pay $500,000 a month until its bankruptcy plan becomes effective, when it will pay the balance.
