Trump Taj Mahal promises Olympic-sized thrills in Atlantic City this summer

21 June 2012

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- It’s time to DO-AC olympic-style! Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort announced it will host the I.FLY Trapeze School from Friday, July 6 until Sunday, September 2. The I.FLY Trapeze School will be steps off the Boardwalk, on the large patio deck between the Chairman Tower and the Taj Tower, at Trump Taj Mahal. The I.FLY Trapeze school will be open to the public.

In addition to the Trapeze School, Trump Taj Mahal will have free XtreMe TrAMPoLiNe shows on the Boardwalk Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 1p.m., 3p.m. and 5p.m.

“We need to bring unique attractions that aren’t found in other gaming markets, giving reasons for people to visit Atlantic City in a totally different way,” said Trump Entertainment Resorts Senior Vice President of Marketing Kathleen McSweeney “The I.FLY Trapeze School and XtreMe TrAMPoLiNe are great for families and for age groups. We are thrilled to have both attractions here for the summer.”

I.FLY Trapeze School is a recreational Flying Trapeze and Aerial Arts program open to the public. I.FLY instructors come from a variety of circus disciplines and have been trained specifically to teach people to fly whether beginner or advanced. They also have hospitality and entertainment backgrounds that aren’t only comfortably inviting, but create a fun-filled atmosphere. Children can start flying at age 4 and adults should never stop flying at any age!

“We were looking to bring something truly unique to Trump Taj Mahal and after a tireless search, we discovered an I.FLY Trapeze School video. We knew in the first few minutes we had found something perfect for the Atlantic City market,” said McSweeney. “Trapeze Schools have become the hottest ‘must-try’ attraction coast to coast, from Santa Monica, California to New York, and we’re proud to bring it here. It is a unique form of entertainment that has been seen in movies and on TV; most recently in This Means War, starring Reese Witherspoon, and last week on Good Morning America.”

First-time flyers will learn the timing and technique for a Knee Hang (getting your legs on the bar so that you can release your hands). They’ll also learn a back-flip dismount. The second part of the class allows students the opportunity to swing at the same time as an I.FLY instructor in an opposing trapeze, meet in the middle, and catch wrist to wrist! Classes are 90 minutes long and are priced at $65 per person. Group rates are available. Trump Taj Mahal hotel guests and Trump One Card holders will receive a $5 discount. Flying Trapeze classes will be offered Tuesday through Sunday, available four times a day 10:30am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 5:30pm. You must reserve/purchase in advance by calling 516-640-1579 or e-mail FlyAC@iflytrapeze.com.

As seen on Late Night with David Letterman, XtreMe TrAMPoLiNe, presented by National Entertainment, is an internationally renowned team of American Olympic medalists and national gymnastic champions. They will thrill and astound Boardwalk strollers as they defy gravity and fly with no support but the air around them!

All visitors to Atlantic City can enjoy this free show on the Boardwalk in front of Trump Taj Mahal, as the team performs extreme synchronized twisting triple flips with snowboards and skis as they soar over 25 feet into the air. Spectators will marvel at the acrobatic dexterity as they repel off of a transparent wall. As seen by fans at pro football and basketball games, crowds have given them a well-deserved standing ovation time and time again. Visitors can watch these world-class athletes fly first class without a boarding pass every weekend, July 6 through September 2 on the Boardwalk in front of Trump Taj Mahal.

“The XtreMe TrAMPoLiNe is the perfect complement to the I.FLY Trapeze school – it is free and it is something all ages can enjoy,” said McSweeney. “Families can come to the Taj this summer and ‘See the Show AND Be the Show.’”

Taj Mahal representatives will distribute on the Boardwalk for those who are at least 21 an offer to sign up for a Trump One Card and receive one free Sultan’s Feast Buffet and $50 to play. And in keeping with the Olympic theme, Trump Taj Mahal is offering Trump One Card holders a chance to win $1,000 cash with its Olympic Sweeps every Friday from 6pm-10pm and every Saturday from 2pm-6pm. Trump One Card Holders must earn 20 Tier Points or more by playing on the day of the event and have their card inserted into any slot machine at the time of the drawing for their chance to win.
