Trump Still Interested in Philadelphia Slot Parlor26 May 2005PHILADELPHIA – As reported by the Philadelphia Daily News: "Donald Trump yesterday said he was still interested in a slot- machine-parlor license in Philadelphia, but he backed away from his recent flirtation with the former Budd Co. site in Nicetown. "Trump said the 75-acre site, controlled by Preferred Real Estate Investments of Conshohocken, has its pros and cons. "…Preferred's chairman, Michael O'Neill, said yesterday that Trump had not spoken with him about losing interest in the site. "…Gov. Rendell was less than impressed with the notion then, saying that sites on the Delaware riverfront made more sense to him. "Rendell signed a law last July authorizing 14 slot-parlor licenses across the state, including two in Philadelphia. "…'We're looking at different places,' Trump said. 'I think you've got a lot of good locations in Philadelphia.'…" |
