Trump Employees Agree to New Contract10 November 2004ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – As reported by the Press of Atlantic City: "…Union employees from the city's three Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts properties on_Tuesday were the last to approve a five-year contract that provides increases in wages, health care and pension contributions and guarantees workers that their jobs will not be replaced through subcontracting. "Votes tallied by 7:30 p.m. show Local 54 of Unite Here members from Trump Marina Hotel Casino, Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino and Trump Taj Mahal Casino Resort voted 284-16 in favor of the deal approved last week by union members at seven other casinos. "…The roughly 4,000 hotel and restaurant service workers at Trump casinos remained on the job last month even as 10,000 others walked a 32-day picket line. Trump narrowly escaped the walkout, agreeing to a union deal two hours before a scheduled work stoppage. "That contract was never ratified, however, as union negotiators tried to hammer out a similar deal with Harrah's Atlantic City, Resorts Atlantic City, Tropicana Casino and Resort, Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort, Caesars Atlantic City, Showboat Casino Hotel and Bally's Atlantic City…" |
