Tropicana opens new slot room1 May 2008ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Atlantic City's Tropicana Casino & Resort today announced their plans for the opening of their new slot environment. "Havana Rooftop Slots" is a 3,000 square-foot raised section of its casino that has been completely transformed into an all-encompassing, themed slot environment. New and current guests will experience this unique opportunity for themselves in this one-of-a-kind slot offering. Havana Rooftop Slots will debut on May 15th with a VIP/ Media Event and official Ribbon Cutting. Mark Giannantonio, President and COO, Tropicana Casino & Resort says, "The attention to detail in creating Havana Rooftop Slots has exceeded my expectations. We are excited to be the first in AC to offer something like this, and it will definitely be a competitive advantage in slot merchandising within the marketplace." The Havana Rooftop Slots project was developed in total from slot manufacturer and casino supply company, AC Coin & Slot, who designed and constructed the environment and provided 165 IGT(R) slot games for the project (including one bank of custom-themed slot machines), hand-painted murals, custom signage, and ergonomic slot bases and seating. "Tropicana gave us the autonomy to utilize our skill sets of design and implementation to create this total slot environment package," said Jason Seelig, AC Coin & Slot Executive Vice President, Corporate Sales. "Trop is leading the way as we foresee this as a trend more casinos will follow to more competitively merchandise their gaming offerings." Visitors to the new slot area will be greeted by specially uniformed staff and surrounded with the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Old Havana, Cuba. Authentic Cuban music, vivid artwork, specialty drinks and coffees, festive lighting, and the faintest aromas of citrus will entice the senses while players enjoy the latest in slot technology and entertainment, further distinguishing the Tropicana as the destination of choice for gaming enthusiasts. Patrons will feel transported to another time and place as they lounge in plush appointments and overlook the casino floor below. Players will also be able to try their luck with a series of 12 "Havana Gold(TM)" progressive-link slots, which have been custom-themed by International Game Technology (IGT) specifically for the project. The Havana Gold series machines are five-reel, nine-line, 90-coin games that offer the excitement of free spin bonuses and will serve to complete the themed atmosphere. |
