Tropicana Casino and Resort Unveils Expansion Project23 November 2004ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Earlier today, Tuesday, November 23, Tropicana Casino and Resort unveiled its $280 million multi- faceted expansion project, The Quarter at Tropicana. The expansion was opened with a brief ceremony with all 502 rooms in the new Havana Tower and the majority of the retail stores. The first five levels of the 2,400-space parking garage also opened today, with the remaining five levels expected to be open by the end of December. The Quarter brings to life the exotic splendor of Old Havana in a lifelike, two-story streetscape. The Tropicana Atlantic City, including the new Las Vegas-styled complex, now houses an unprecedented selection of 70 dining, entertainment, shopping & spa choices. Inside The Quarter, guests will enjoy world-class dining options, a stunning array of red-hot entertainment and nightlife venues, chic and cultured retail and the most lavish and luxuriant spa facility the city has ever seen. The top-notch venues that opened today include: The Comedy Stop Cabaret & Cafe; IMAX Theatre at Tropicana; Brooks Brothers; Barron's Gentlemen; The Old Farmer's Almanac General Store; Jake's Dog House; Salsa Shoes; Tinder Box/Vino 100; Ri-Ra Irish Pub & Restaurant; Red Square; Adam Good's Crab Shack; Chico's; White House/Black Market; Swarovski; Cache; The Collection-Tahari; Houdini's Magic Shop; Melonie de France; Brandeis Jewelers; Rittenhouse Gift and Home; The Hat Emporium; Erwin Pearl; Chez Lingerie; The Spy Shop; Havana Sundries; Perfect Accessories and Leather; Zinman Furs; and Zephyr Gallery. The additional entertainment and restaurant establishments will open as their training periods are completed, with most of them expected to be open by mid- December. With the completion of The Quarter at Tropicana, the largest non-gaming expansion in the history of Atlantic City, the Tropicana Casino and Resort will have 2,125 rooms, making it the state's largest hotel. The spacious casino has more than 148,256 square feet dedicated to gaming, 4,400 slot machines and more than 178 table games. With the addition of The Quarter, the Tropicana will feature 17 restaurants. Within The Quarter's Havana Tower are 34 premium suites and four Apex Board Rooms. With the new 10-level garage, the total number of parking spaces is 5,547. |
