Trinadad pro-casino rally march today13 October 2006TRINADAD – As reported by the Trinadad News: "The organisers of a pro-casino protest expect thousands of people to rally today and march against Government's planned changes to clamp down on the gaming industry. "Ma Pau casino manager Annette Richards said that the Association of Members Clubs planned to protest outside Whitehall in Port of Spain this morning after discussions with Minister in the Minister of Finance Conrad Enill failed to give them comfort as to the future or stability of the local gaming industry. "…She expressed concern that Prime Minister Patrick Manning's proposal to ban the importation and the use of slot machines with immediate effect, would not only dissuade development in the industry but would also impact the number of jobs that the industry created…" |
