Tribe clears $35 million casino loan four years early

EMMETT TOWNSHIP, Michigan — The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi have cleared a $35 million loan four years early, The Kalamazoo Gazette reported.

The tribe own the Firekeepers Casino which opened a year ago, the report said.

The loan paid for 2,680 slot machines for Firekeepers Casino, according to the Kalamazoo Gazette.

Firekeepers Casino employs 1500 people, the report noted.
