Tribe Begins Work on New York Casino4 November 2003SALAMANCA, New York – As reported by the Associated Press: "The Seneca Indian Nation planned to break ground this afternoon on a temporary casino expected to open in March in western New York. "The 125,000-square-foot casino, on reservation land about 50 miles south of Buffalo, is one of three allowed under a 2002 agreement between New York state and the tribe. The Senecas opened a casino in Niagara Falls last December and plan to build another in suburban Buffalo. The temporary casino is expected to have 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games and a bingo room. "…Seneca President Rickey Armstrong said the temporary casino will create more than 800 jobs…" |
