Tribal Casino Proposed for Romulus

MICHIGAN – As reported by Crains Detroit: "An Upper Peninsula American Indian community wants to build a $243 million hotel and casino development in Romulus, just west of the site on which Magna Entertainment Corp. has proposed a racetrack.

"The Hannahville Tribe of Potawatomi Indians, which has operated Chip-In Resort and Casino in Harris since 1993, made the announcement Oct. 20 at the 24.6-acre site at the northwest corner of Vining and Wick roads.

"…Tribal Chairman Kenneth Meshigaud said plans include a 200-room hotel, with restaurants and retail shops, and casino space for about 2,400 slot machines and 90 table games…"
