Town Meeting Proposed for Indiana Casino

LANSING, Indiana – As reported by the Northwest Indiana Times: "Village President Dan Podgorski has proposed a town hall meeting to obtain input before Lansing takes a position on a casino proposed in neighboring Lynwood.

"Despite pressure from many activists among a standing-room-only crowd of nearly 200 people, Podgorski stood his ground at Tuesday's Village Board meeting. He refused to take a stand on the casino and suggested the town hall meeting as a forum.

"…The town hall meeting, which will be scheduled in coming weeks, will include representatives of the Ho-Chunk Nation. The Indian tribe hopes to build a casino and entertainment complex on 432 acres at Stony Island Avenue and Glenwood-Lansing Road…"
