Top-10 players who have never won the WSOP Main Event

10. TJ Cloutier
Cloutier is a legend in poker. The Texan is a giant of a man who played football in the Canadian Football league. He's won more than $4.3 million during his WSOP career. And he's won a total of six WSOP bracelets. He's fearless and intimidating at the table, but very engaging away from the felt. And more than a few people will be rooting for him to win his first Main Event this year.
9. Men "The Master" Nguyen
Nguyen is one of the most decorated players to have never one a WSOP Main Event. He has won six bracelets and earned more than $2.8 million during the course of his WSOP career. But the Main Event crown has eluded him. The last time he was a serious contender in a WSOP event was during the 2007 WSOP when he finished eighth in the Razz tournament.
>8. Barry Greenstein
Greenstein is the proud owner of three WSOP bracelets, including one from this year's Series. He's a brilliant cash-game player who also excels in tournaments. He's cashed six times at this year's series for $768,461. He finished sixth at the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. championship (Event 45). And he's won just over $2 million for his career at the WSOP.
7. Andy Bloch
Bloch is pure genius. He graduated from MIT with two engineering degrees in 1992. He graduated from Harvard Law in 1999. He used to be the manager for the MIT blackjack team. And he's won just shy of $2 million dollars in his career at the World Series of Poker. Wow. The only thing missing from is his resume is a bracelet. And he would love for it to come in the Main Event.
6. Ted Forrest
Forrest is best known as a high-stakes cash players (and prop bettor). But he's also an excellent tournament players with five bracelets to his name. He has more than $1.3 million in WSOP earnings and has finished in the top five twice this year at the Series.
5. Daniel Negreanu
Negreanu's fun-loving personality and giant media presence in the poker world make it easy for people to forget that he's never won the Main Event. Negreanu, a longtime advocate of small-ball poker, has won four WSOP bracelets, including the $2,000 Limit Hold'em championship (Event 20) at this year's championships. He also finished 13th at this year's $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event and seventh in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha with rebuys tournament (Event 28). Negreanu is currently in sixth place in the WSOP Player of the Year rankings.
4. Layne Flack
In the words of Phil Hellmuth, Layne Flack is a "No-Limit Hold'em genius." And that's high praise from the person who considers himself the greatest No-Limit Hold'em player in the world. He won consecutive events at the 2003 WSOP, earning him the nickname "Back to Back Flack." And he enters this year's Main Event with a victory in the $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha with rebuys tournament (Event 34).
3. Allen Cunningham
Cunningham, one of the best minds in poker, already has five WSOP bracelets. But the Main Event crown has eluded him so far. He finished fourth at the Main Event in 2006 and 27th in 2001. And he's won more in $6 million in World Series play for his career.
2. Erik Seidel
Seidel is the most accomplished player who has yet to win a WSOP Main Event. Seidel has 8 WSOP bracelets to his name (three behind bracelet leader Phil Hellmuth) and almost $4 million in WSOP earnings.
1. Phil Ivey
With his aggressive style of play, Ivey is the most-feared player in the world. He already has five WSOP bracelets to his name and more than $3 million in WSOP earnings. A Main Event bracelet would cement his status as a legend of the game. Also, if Ivey doesn't win the Main Event, he'll end up losing money for the tournament due to a series of prop bets. How's that for motivation.
