Tioga Downs plans racing closing night13 September 2017(PRESS RELEASE) -- Tioga Downs is preparing for a memorable Closing Night of racing on 16 September, complete with a Horseplay car giveaway and a fireworks display. Live racing kicks off at 6:50 p.m. During live racing, participants will be able to make a $1 donation and receive a rubber horse. The giveaway car, a 2017 Ford Fusion S, will drive around the track once, and fans will attempt to throw their rubber horses into the open windows of the car as it makes a lap around the track. The subsequent winner will be the final qualifier into the Grand Prize Drawing to be held later that day. After the Horseplay toss, a backwards draw will begin with all of the entries into the Grand Prize drawing. The final entry in the official drawing barrel will win the giveaway car 2017 Ford Fusion S. Proceeds from this promotion will be matched by Tioga Downs and donated to local charities: Community Care Network of Nichols, Elmira Southside Community Center, Tioga County Boys and Girls Club & Western Broome Family Center, Southern Tier Alternative Therapies, Magic Paintbrush Project. Kids can get in on the Horseplay action, too. Children who help collect a rubber horse from the track will receive a ticket for a free ice cream. In addition, we'll be giving away a Snapper 82 Volt electric push mower courtesy of Clinton Tractor. Fans can register to win at the racing promotions table. A fireworks show will be held at the completion of live racing, closing out another quality racing season with a bang. |
