Tinian mayor supports casino project

TINIAN – As reported by the Saipan Tribune: "Tinian Mayor Jose San Nicolas has formally endorsed the entry of a Korean-based investor wanting to start a casino project on Tinian.

"San Nicolas said yesterday that he recently wrote the Tinian Casino and Gaming Commission Casino in support of Matua Bay Resort and Casino, which is being developed by Mariana Resort Development Co. Inc.

"The company, which recently paid for the trip investigation of a Tinian delegation to South Korea, reportedly plans to build a 1,000-room hotel facility, which features a golf course and a casino, in two phases…"
