Thunder Valley plans expansion

5 July 2007

CALIFORNIA -- As reported by the San Francisco Chronicle: "The Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln (Placer County) is set to get a multimillion-dollar expansion that will make it one of the biggest casinos in Northern California. The United Auburn Indian Community, the group that runs the facility, announced the project last month, and construction is scheduled to begin by this time next year.

"While representatives from the Auburn Indian Community declined to reveal how much money they will pony up for the expansion, spokesman Doug Elmets said the changes will be so dramatic the facility will rival Cache Creek in Brooks (Yolo County) and River Rock Casino in Geyserville.

"...Expansion plans include 650 hotel rooms, a performing arts center, a parking structure for 5,000 cars, a spa, additional gaming space (with a poker room), new restaurants and a tribal cultural exhibit area.

"The new facility also is expected to have two ballrooms totaling 30,000 square feet, with the ability to accommodate 2,000 people..."
