Thunder Valley Casino Resort appoints New General Manager31 May 2013LINCOLN, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Thunder Valley Casino Resort announced today the appointment of Dawn Clayton as General Manager. Clayton joined the Thunder Valley team in August 2010 as Vice President of Casino Operations, coordinating the successful operation of the casino’s newly expanded gaming floor. Clayton was promoted to Assistant General Manager in January 2012 and assumed the position of Acting General Manager in February of this year. “Dawn brings outstanding leadership to our Thunder Valley team,” said Gene Whitehouse, Chairman of the United Auburn Indian Community. “From her day-to-day business management skills to strategic thinking and planning for the future, I have personally witnessed Dawn play a significant role in the emerging success of Thunder Valley Casino Resort. We are thrilled to introduce her as General Manager of our team.” Clayton, who resides in Roseville, brings over 31 years of gaming industry experience to her new role. Before joining Thunder Valley’s team, Clayton served as Vice President of Casino Operations for Ameristar Casino based in East Chicago, Indiana. Prior to that, Clayton held several management positions at the Tropicana Resort & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey and served as Executive Vice President of Gaming Operations and Acting General Manager of Mountaineer Casino Racetrack & Resort in Chester, West Virginia. “I am honored to have the opportunity to lead the stellar team established at Thunder Valley,” said Clayton. “This is an incredible opportunity and I look forward to advancing Thunder Valley Casino Resort as an industry leader.” Clayton will assume her role as General Manager immediately.
