The Wynn Classic poker tournament returns

1 February 2008

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Wynn Las Vegas Resort and Country Club announced today that the 2008 schedule for The Wynn Classic poker tournament will take place from February 26 through March 19. The successful 2007 inaugural Wynn Classic included close to 2,600 players and just over $4.5 million in prize money awarded at the events.

"The success of the inaugural Wynn Classic has allowed us to dedicate more resources to the event," said David Eglseder, Director of The Wynn Classic. "We are expecting an even larger prize pool and more entrants in 2008."

Last year's winner of the $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold 'Em event, Zachary Hyman, won close to $750,000.

A full schedule of events can be found at Wynnpoker.com. This year's tournament schedule includes No Limit Hold 'Em, Omaha Hi/Lo, H.O.S.E and Pot Limit Omaha.

Now through February 21, Wynn Red Card holders are eligible for The Wynn Classic Tournament Seat Giveaway. Players will need to present their Red Card to the poker room staff and simply play in the poker room. One E-Ticket for each hour of recorded play will be awarded to the player and then entered into a drawing. This is for a chance to win one of twelve seats or the grand prize seat into the $10,000/$200 Main Event.

Those interested in pre-registering for The Wynn Classic or the Tournament Seat Giveaway can call the poker room at 702.770.7654 for more information.
