The Venetian Resort to honor wounded veterans over Veterans Day Weekend

8 November 2019

(PRESS RELEASE) -- In honor of Veterans Day, The Venetian Las Vegas and Las Vegas Sands Corp. have partnered with three nonprofit organizations – The Independence Fund, Helping a Hero and Homes for our Troops – to honor a group of the nation’s wounded veterans with an all-inclusive weekend of relaxation and world-class dining and entertainment.

“It’s an honor and a privilege for us to welcome these veterans to The Venetian Resort,” said Andy Abboud, senior vice president of government relations at Las Vegas Sands. “Our chairman, Sheldon Adelson, and all of our team members are grateful to be able to thank these men and women for their sacrifice and serve them throughout this relaxing weekend."

During their stay, the veterans will enjoy all-suite accommodations, excursions throughout Las Vegas, dining experiences at Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano, Mott 32 and Yardbird Southern Table, and a number of activities including a mixology class, gaming classes and services at Canyon Ranch spa + fitness.

Additionally, the veterans will be treated to a special Veterans Day dinner at Chef Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bistro, serving a custom menu created in partnership with Omaha Steaks.

“We are privileged to honor our nation’s heroes and be part of such a wonderful event,” said Todd Simon, senior vice president and fifth-generation family owner of Omaha Steaks. “To bring those who serve our great nation around the table to share a gourmet steak dinner with family and loved ones is so important to our mission.”

On Monday, 11 November, at 3:30 p.m., guests and team members of The Venetian Resort will honor the wounded warriors at a special Veterans Day ceremony inside the resort’s Grand Colonnade in The Venetian Lobby. Airmen from Nellis Air Force Base will participate with the Presentation of the Colors. The ceremony is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
