The Venetian and The Palazzo present holiday performance

14 November 2017

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Venetian Las Vegas and The Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino have partnered with Positively Arts Foundation to present the "Positively Arts Holiday Spectacular," featuring the cast of "BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up." The one-day special event will take place Sunday, 17 December from 1 to 3 p.m. and all proceeds from tickets sold will benefit Positively Arts Foundation.

"Since we debuted at The Palazzo Las Vegas in 2016, Positively Arts Foundation has been a favorite partner among all of all of our cast and the production team," said Bill Evans, who portrays Maestro in "BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up." "Their mission to create performance arts opportunities for students is something we all advocate and partnering for this holiday show was the perfect opportunity to come together to celebrate the spirit of the season."

More than 60 students from Positively Arts Foundation will join the cast of "BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up" in the holiday spectacular, which will feature performances of seasonal songs including "Silent Night," "All I Want for Christmas Is You," "This Christmas," "Carol of the Bells," "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and more.

Participating cast members from "BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up" include Ruby Lewis (Daisy), Timyra-Joi (Juliet), Savannah Cross (Ballroom Dancer), Anne Martinez (Swing), Robby Haltiwanger (Christian), Marccquet Hill (Ballroom Dancer), Ron Remke (Swing), Tiffany O'Connor (Myrtle) and Bill Evans (Maestro).

In 2016, "BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up" celebrated its 100th show by welcoming students from Positively Arts Foundation with a choreography lesson, a question-and-answer session, and an opportunity for the students to perform their newly learned choreography in front of the cast.

"The Venetian and The Palazzo have always been such wonderful supporters of our mission," said President and CEO of Positively Arts Foundation Pilita Danesh. "The students love how the cast of 'BAZ' has always welcomed them and encouraged them to pursue their dreams. We all so excited to be a part of this wonderful holiday show."

Positively Arts Foundation (PAF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to using the arts to empower, inspire and heal by creating positive performance arts opportunities for students despite their financial need or accessibility to the arts.

"BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up" is a new generation cabaret and high-energy movie-music mash-up that blends the world's most iconic love stories as imagined by famed film visionary Baz Luhrmann. Inspired by Luhrmann's signature take on "Romeo + Juliet," "Moulin Rouge" and "The Great Gatsby," this theatrical concert features soul-stirring and stunning performances from an ensemble cast and band.

Tickets for the "Positively Arts Holiday Spectacular" featuring the cast of "BAZ - A Musical Mash-Up," go on sale Tuesday, 14 November at 10 a.m. and are available for $20 (General Admission) and $25 (VIP). Tickets can be purchased at any box office at The Venetian or The Palazzo, by going online or by calling 702-414-9000 or 866-641-7469.
