The STRAT announces new executive chef11 June 2019(PRESS RELEASE) -- The STRAT Hotel, Casino and SkyPod has announced the appointment of Ivan Zekic as the new executive chef of the property. Zekic brings decades of experience working in high-end, world-renown resorts to his role. Zekic leads all culinary operations and oversees all facets of menu development and chef training for the property’s diverse portfolio of restaurants, including McCall's Heartland Grill, Crafted Buffet, the award-winning Top of the World and banquet operations. “My goal is to make The STRAT a hot spot for all of the foodies who live in and come to Las Vegas to visit,” said Zekic. He joins The STRAT amid a culinary evolution at the property, which includes the recent introductions of BLVD & MAIN Taphouse, View Lounge, the 24-hour Strat Café and 108 Eats by James Trees, located on the Observation Deck of the SkyPod. Most recently the executive chef of Mount Airy Casino Resort in Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania, Zekic’s broad experience spans the United States and Europe. In addition to his role as executive chef for the Royal Family of Serbia in the White Palace, Zekic has worked at such top resorts as Hilton Hotels in Romania, InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, The Phoenician, a Luxury Collection Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona and Walt Disney World Swan Resort in Orlando, Florida. Zekic completed his culinary education in Serbia and received a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the University of Belgrade in Serbia. |
