The Skagit Casino Resort will temporarily shut down

17 March 2020

(PRESS RELEASE) -- In an effort to do our part in limiting the spread of COVID-19, The Skagit Casino Resort will be implementing the recommendations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Center For Disease Control, and Governor Jay Inslee’s proclamation regarding the state wide closure of food establishments to sit-in service and the prohibition of gatherings of more than 50 people, in an effort to protect our valued customers and employees.

Accordingly, effective Tuesday, 17 March 2020 at 5:00 PM, the Skagit Valley Casino Resort will be closing its Casino and Hotel, and The Ridge Hotel to the general public until further notice. The drive through tobacco shop and Bow Hill Gas Station will remain open.

The Tribe will be implementing stringent deep cleaning protocols during the closure. The Tribe will also continue to monitor all information relating to COVID-19, and will provide updates to our customers via e-mails and posts on our website at theskagit.com. Public Health agencies’ current information leads us to believe that the threat presented by the virus will not be gone within two weeks. As such, while we are unable at this time to be certain as to the duration of the closure, we do not want to create a false sense of hope by limiting the closure to two weeks at this time.

As part of the Skagit community, the Tribe is committed to doing what it can to limit the impact of COVID-19. We are grateful for our customers and employees and will do all that we can to assist the local community through this most challenging crisis.
