The Reel Life: Stolen lottery ticket edition

26 July 2012

Jack Lavoie is the type of player the Virginia Lottery loves. He plays nearly every day, choosing his children's birthdays as his numbers.

One day in March, he brought in a winning ticket. The clerk, Susan Perez, said his ticket had three winning numbers and was worth $40. A few hours later, Lavoie's son called and said he should have won $600, because he had four winning numbers.

Lavoie returned to the store to get all of his winnings, but Perez said she had lost the ticket. The owner told Lavoie to go to the lottery to complain, and he did. Now Perez is now being charged with felony grand larceny, as authorities say she claimed the money for herself. Oops.

Perez is no longer working at the gas station, and Lavoie is still out his the remainder of his winnings.

The Reel life thinks that if you need $600, you're probably better off working for a paycheck than stealing someone's lottery ticket, losing your job and being charged with felony grand larceny.

Online casinos are rolling out new games every day, it seems and this week has been no different. Mr. Green now has NetEnt's Jack Hammer 2: Fishy Business, a sequel to Jack Hammer. The five-reel, 99-payline slot offers a jackpot worth up to $2,500, players can earn up to 20 free spins which can be retriggered, and it also has a "sticky win" feature, allowing players to build huge scores as the reels keep re-spinning as long as there are new wins.

Sky Vegas has also released a new slot, this one honoring martial arts legend Bruce Lee. The five-reel, 50-payline game has a free spin bonus where you can trigger the Enter the Dragon Bonus where your free spins don't count down.

Head on out to Mr. Green and Sky Vegas and give these new games a whirl.
