The Reel Life: Stolen cell phone edition

26 January 2012

The Reel Life has never stolen a cell phone. Should we ever feel the need to do so, the last thing we'd do is answer a call from the original owner.

According to the Asheville Citizen-Times, a North Carolina man who stole a person's cell phone offered to resell the phone after the original owner called him. Andrew Patrick Jones, 21, allegedly broke into a vehicle at an Asheville shopping mall and stole two cell phones, a digital camera, some prescription medicine and a hat.

The victims contacted police and reported the theft. They then called their phones and spoke to the suspect. The suspect offered to resell the goods to them "for a price."

The two victims met with Jones at his residence and identified the stolen items. Jones also offered to sell them some marijuana as well.

The victims left the residence and called police, who searched Jones' residence and recovered the goods, as well as a small amount of marijuana. Jones "is charged with breaking and entering a motor vehicle, felony larceny, misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia," according to the article.

Here’s a piece of advice, Mr. Jones, courtesy of The Reel Life. The next time you decide to steal a cell phone, don’t answer it. We don’t know what the following steps would be, because we have no idea how to get rid of stolen goods. But we know not to answer a cell phone when the owner calls it back.

Get in the fast lane Grandma, this bingo game is ready to roll!

We got a first-timer!

Mrs. Maureen P scooped £1,822 at Jackpotjoy's online slots, after receiving 20 pounds worth of free bets. Mrs. P is delighted with her win.

"It is brilliant! I got an email with £20 free and thought, why not? I will get on and play and to my surprise... I won! It was a bonus getting the free money and the win was just lovely! I have two things in mind... fitting a new carpet in lounge or save for a replacement car - decisions, decisions!"

Jackpotjoy's Classic Slots section is crammed with cool retro online slots, redolent of the golden age of pub slot machines. Vintage, 3-line slot games like Bullion Bonanza are quite popular at the site.

The 'American Dream' game gives slots players the chance to win big cash prizes, from coinage as lowly as 25p. With a spine of the reel, players have the chance to net £45,000 from a 3 pound stake - that's 15,000 times the coin size.

Congrats to Mrs. P, and good luck to her on her major decision!
