The Reel Life: Munchies alert

14 May 2009

The Reel Life fully understands what it's like to get the munchies. Believe you me, when you spend as much time sitting in front of a computer playing the slots as we do, eating sometimes becomes an afterthought. And when we get shaken out of our trance and realize how long we've gone without food, we need to eat…immediately.

With that said we have a difficult time believing that if given the choice we'd choose food over freedom -- even if the chow being offered is a crispy chicken Chalupa from Taco Bell smothered with sour cream. But for a certain gentleman from Indiana earlier this week, the temptations of Taco Bell were too much to ignore. And the end result was a jail sentence.

Slot fans, meet Jermaine Askia Cooper. A 36-year-old suspected drug dealer who was leading police on a 90 mph chase around a Fort Wayne, Indiana neighborhood when he suddenly made a quick right into a Taco Bell to get himself one last burrito. Cooper was grabbed in the parking lot by police before he could even get to the window. After being cuffed and placed into the back seat of a cruiser, Cooper explained to the police that he knew he was going to jail and that he figured this was his last chance to get himself a decent meal. Our guess is that the arresting officers weren't amused and didn't offer to stop at the drive-thru window on the way to the station.

Cooper is being held without bail on four counts of cocaine, one count of resisting arrest and another count of caving in to the demands of an empty stomach. Adios amigo!

Last Saturday was a big day for slot players at Bodog where there were multiple five-and-four-figure winners. Renee W from Massachusetts led the way by cashing in for $23,292 while playing Cleopatra's Gold. Jae K of New York took home just over $10,000 on the Crystal Waters slot while JW M. of Illinois conquered Caesar's Empire by winning $7,181.

That's right the new Dungeons and Dragons slot is based on the popular game and allows players to take on the role of legendary heroes and test themselves against 20 lines of action. Players can explore the bonus Dungeon, uncover treasures and battle monsters to claim up to 30 free spins and 20x multiplier as they descend into Dragon's Cave.

A lot can happen in 13 seconds. But winning £39,500 in that span of time is rather astonishing.

But that's exactly what a woman identified as "SP" did last week at 32Red Online Casino.

The player loaded the Cash Splash online slot machine and 13 seconds, six spins and just £18 later she was £39,500 better off.

32Red Plc Operations Director, Pat Harrison, said, "We were all amazed when SP won the Cash Splash jackpot so quickly. Looking at just how few spins it took for her to win nearly £40,000 is quite staggering. A progressive jackpot win is a rarity and to land one in just 13 seconds of playing is a world record. We've congratulated SP and wish her the best of luck for the future"

Please Pat, give us a break. This woman clearly doesn't deserve anymore "future luck." Send some of that stuff our way, will ya!!!
