Two Spanish women flushed about €100,000 down the tubes for reasons that are still unknown. Bills worth €500 each were cut up and sent down the pipeline at a UBS bank branch and three restaurants. Vincent Derouand of the Geneva Prosecutors' Office said, "This is a strange story. It does not happen often." We think that's an understatement, but we're admittedly not up to date on toilet-related mysteries. As it's not illegal in Switzerland to destroy money, prosecutors are more concerned that the fact of its destruction may point to the money having been obtained through nefarious methods.
