According to TV station WAVE, a police officer in Seymour, Ind. was arrested last week and charged with DUI after he swiped a parked car and then hit a tree in his pickup truck. A police officer getting a DUI is a newsworthy story, but it’s not a Reel Life story. What makes this story Reel Life approved is what Officer John Newcomb was towing behind his pickup truck: A trailer that said D.A.R.E. Newcomb is a “School Resource Officer” in Seymour. According to the Seymour Police Department website, he is “responsible for seven schools, acting as a mentor and providing students with a role model.” To top this story off, Newcomb claimed his dog, which was in the truck with him, was a distraction and actually caused the crash. The Reel Life has blamed the dog on many things, including tough sessions on the online slots. But blaming the dog on a DUI is definitely a first.
