The Reel Life: Carrot Dating edition

24 October 2013

The online dating scene is a competitive one. In order to get good results, you have to showcase your best assets up front.

MIT graduate Brandon Wade seems to understand this, and that's why he invented Carrot Dating, an app that asks men to offer women a financial incentive to go on a date. The "gift" ideas range from plastic surgery to jewelry to just about anything.

Some critics, including Business Insider's Christina Sterbenz, claim the app is "blatantly sexist" and won't "build the chemistry needed to fall in love."

While the latter may very well be true in most cases, the Reel Life has a hard time finding this app sexist. Women already have the upper hand in the online (and real) dating world -- they tend to get dozens if not hundreds of messages per day, and they get to pick from the best of the lot. This app just makes the game more competitive for men, which benefits women further.

That said, the Reel Life does not necessarily endorse the app as a viable means to find a suitable partner in the long run. In fact, we'd go as far as to say that any man who needs to use a site like Carrot Dating to get a date is probably a loser. We're just saying … this app looks like a win-win for the right kind of people.

Stonehenge provides the backdrop of Net Entertainment’s latest video slot where players are challenged to unlock the mysteries of a stone garden.

The ancient setting is populated by druids roaming the hills of Western Europe and features five reels, three rows, Wild substitutions and Free Spins.

An interactive Free Spins bonus collection allows players to pick up certain types of bonus features from a lush green garden. The caretaker and his staff pass on their congratulations as each bonus feature is unearthed.

Once they have all been revealed, rays of sunlight illuminate the garden before Free Spins commence.

Secret of the Stones offers the highest quality gaming experience and a perfect balance between easy gameplay and excitement on the reels,” comments Simon Hammon, Chief Product Officer of Net Entertainment. “Our mission is always to create better games for players and this video slot is a gem that delivers a superb gaming experience.”
