The Reel Life

2 September 2010

One of The Reel Life's pet peeves is traffic. But the next time we feel like complaining about our latest jam, we'll remember what's going on in China.

The Global Times reported last week that a traffic jam on the Beijing-Tibet Expressway extended more than 64 miles, and congestion lasted nearly two weeks. The jam was caused by was caused by a flood of cargo-bearing heavy trucks plus road work on the highway.

Officials originally expected the jam to last until September, but Agence France-Presse says it is largely broken up. However, a new traffic jam in the northeastern Chinese region of Inner Mongolia has stretched nearly 75 miles.

According to Sky News, "the motorway going towards China's capital and the neighbouring province of Hebei are now more like a car park than a major road, state TV reported. The traffic snarl-up began on Tuesday after local restrictions were enforced in Hebei."

The Reel Life can't promise that we'll ever stop complaining about traffic jams. But we'll at least acknowledge that it could be much, much, much, much worse.

It's a Mega jackpot

Online slots fans have been waiting for it, and it's finally happened. The Mega Moolah jackpot has been hit.

A lucky (and anonymous) player won the $4.17 million grand prize at Crazy Vegas Casino earlier this week.

" is delighted to announce this latest and most dramatic Mega Moolah win on the Microgaming Network," said casino manager Trevor Penn. "As a member of the Microgaming Network, is the proud purveyor of the Mega Moolah Progressive Jackpot online slots game series, the most popular and most widely played Progressive Jackpot online slots game on the web."

It didn't take long for Mega Moolah to replenish its jackpot. It is now over $1.5 million.
