The Reel Life

18 March 2010

The Reel Life used to love going to Chuck E. Cheese when we were a youngster. Nothing could beat unlimited pizza and games. A family from Detroit went to a Chuck E. Cheese-style restaurant, and went home with one less family member.

According to The Detroit News, the parents of a 3-year-old toddler may face abuse and abandonment charges after taking him to the kids' restaurant for his birthday and leaving without him. This probably wouldn't be a news story if the parents came back within a few minutes. Or maybe an hour.

It took them 36 hours to report the child missing.

Warren Police Commissioner William Dwyer said that each parent thought that the other one took the child to a grandmother's house for the weekend.

"I've never heard of a situation like this in all my years where you have a birthday party for a 3-year-old and everybody forgets about him," said Dwyer. "This is so outrageous and disturbing."

The child is currently in foster care.

The Reel Life doesn't have any kids, but we feel comfortable saying that should we ever have some, the person most likely left behind at a Chuck E. Cheese would be us.

Get in the fast lane grandma, the Bingo game is ready to roll!

A Fortunate man indeed

The Sands of Fortune shifted for a lucky player last week when he won more than £71,000 at Costa Bingo.

The anonymous player deposited just £50 before turning the stake into a staggering jackpot worth £71,030.29 playing The Sands of Fortune online slot.

The Sands of Fortune is an Aztec-themed five-reel, nine-payline video slot.

"We are very happy to have yet another big winner here at Costa Bingo," said Costa Bingo room manager Debbie Gent. "The player is absolutely thrilled to bits with this huge win. (The player) started with just £50 and managed to turn it into enough money to buy a small house," she said.

Not a bad return on investment!
