The Reel Life

3 April 2008

The Reel Life awoke this morning to the disturbing news that Mariah Carey has topped the Billboard charts for the 18th time, moving her past Elvis Presley, who had 17 number one hits. Thankfully, Carey still trails the Beatles, who had 20 number one hits.

We can see (sort of) why a song entitled "Touch My Body" would rise to number one. But we're not sure how Carey gets away with an album called E=MC2.

You may be asking, what does all of this have to do with online slots? Well, the world needs a diversion to keep people from thinking about Carey's stunning place in musical history. And online slots is as good as it gets. So without further adieu.....

Hit it while it's hot

For the second straight week, we're writing about multiple winners at Last week, it was Miss MA who won her ninth progressive jackpot. This week, we shine the spotlight on ME France, who hit the progressive jackpot twice in two days. The first jackpot brought ME $67,561. The second win yielded just $5,381. But hey, two wins is two wins.

Congratulations ME from France. We hope your luck rubs off on us.

Family Fortunes has arrived

The popular British TV game show Family Fortunes (which was based on the U.S. TV show Family Feud) has been turned into a slots game.

Family Fortunes is a five-line slot game at Jackpotjoy where you collect cash and play exciting bonus rounds for laptops, televisions and cruises worth £5,000! Alongside Deal or No Deal, Strike It Lucky and The Price Is Right Bingo, Family Fortunes makes the number one stop for entertaining TV games.

From Full House to Full Balance!

David C has become one of the Full House Bingo's biggest winners, grabbing £183,940 on Jackpotjoy's exciting 90-ball game.

"I was a bit hyperactive when I won but I have calmed down now," said David a day after his victory. "I had to keep looking back at the screen to see if I had won. The wife thought I was just joking and had won something small, so then she had to check too. I just plan to clear off some debts really. I've not told too many people, just a few friends."

Canadian hits jackpot

Spring time in Canada is looking that much sweeter for a video poker player who switched to slots on a recent spring day and won a nearly $200,000 progressive jackpot at Slotland's jackpot is hit, on average, every six or eight weeks.

"I usually stick with video poker," said the player known as TEXASTEASER who's been a regular at for five years. "I don't know what made me think I should take a spin or two on the slots that day instead, but I'm sure glad I did!"

TEXASTEASER hit the jackpot while playing Treasure Box, one of Slotland's most popular machines.
