The Reel Life: $1 million counterfeit bill edition4 January 2012The Reel Life has never been desperate enough to use counterfeit money. Should we ever have to do so, however, we wouldn't use a $1 million bill. According to the Winston-Salem Journal, a 53-year-old North Carolina man is accused of trying to use a fake $1 million bill to pay for his purchases at, you guessed it, Walmart. Michael Anthony Fuller went to the cashier after picking up a "picking up a vacuum cleaner, a microwave oven and other merchandise, totaling $476," according to the arrest report. He tried to pay for the items with a $1 million bill, which, in case you weren't aware, isn't legal tender. We have to give Fuller credit though. He claimed that the bill was real. The police were called and Fuller was “charged with attempting to obtain property by false pretense and uttering a forged instrument, both felonies,” according to court documents. Let this be a lesson to all those want-to-be counterfeiters: $1, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 bills are fair game. $2 bills are a risk, but not completely out of the realm of possibility. Anything other than that, you’re asking for trouble. Get in the fast lane Grandma, this bingo game is ready to roll!
